Executive Director, Boise Philharmonic
Welcome to our 2026–27 Season with the Boise Philharmonic! On behalf of our board, musicians, and staff, it is our pleasure to welcome you to this concert.
This past year, as the City of Boise's Cultural Ambassador, we've seen firsthand what happens when a community shows up for its orchestra. Our audience grew by nearly 2,000 tickets sold — from 23,323 to 25,260 — and an average of 40% of attendees at every concert were new faces. Our sold-out Home Alone in Concert performances welcomed roughly 3,800 people, more than a third of them children and students, many experiencing live symphonic music for the first time. We brought chamber music into libraries across Boise, Meridian, and Nampa, and hosted our second Family Concert at the Brandt Center in Nampa — proof that when we open more doors, more of Boise walks through them.
And this summer, we celebrated our proudest moment yet: our first-ever Fourth of July concert with the City of Boise, where 30,000 of our neighbors gathered together to celebrate America's 250th birthday. Sharing that evening with so much of our community, under fireworks and live orchestral music, was an achievement we will carry with us for years to come.
Wherever you find yourself this season — in your seat, at a concert, at a musical moment shared with your community — we hope you feel it too: the way music brings us together, lifts us up, and offers a little hope and solace when we need it most. Thank you for standing with the Boise Phil. Orchestras are civic assets that bring people together across neighborhoods and generations; they make music more accessible, create spaces where everyone feels welcome, and help unite and inspire communities. We guarantee you will leave enriched and wanting to return for another shared experience of great live music!
Sincerely,
Brandon VanWaeyenberghe
