Boise Phil Youth Orchestra

A community
that grows with you.

Discover the history and traditions behind BPYO, from its Treasure Valley roots to experiences alongside the professional Boise Phil.

BPYO’s roots reach back to the Treasure Valley Youth Symphony in the mid-1970s. The organization began its merger with the Boise Philharmonic in 2008 and became the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra in 2010. Today’s program carries that history forward through musical training and participation in the cultural life of the Treasure Valley.

Learning alongside the Phil.

BPYO’s traditions connect students with musicians and experiences beyond their regular rehearsals. The Concerto Competition gives students the opportunity to prepare a solo work and perform it with the youth orchestra. The Senior Side by Side offers graduating seniors the chance to rehearse and perform with the professional Boise Phil, sharing the stage with the artists they have watched and learned from.
