Molly McCallum has recently been recognized as one of Capital High School’s 2021 distinguished alumni. While a student at Capital, Molly was the Orchestra President, National Honor Society member, and a member of the Boise Philharmonic Youth Philharmonic (Treasure Valley Youth Symphony). She graduated from Boise State with a degree in Violin Performance and has been a member of the Boise Philharmonic since she was 19 years old. She was a Graduate Assistant at Pennsylvania State University and the Concertmaster of the Baroque Orchestra at Penn State while she earned her Masters degree in Violin Performance. She has performed with Kanye West, Luciano Pavarotti, Michael W. Scott and Amy Grant. In Idaho, she has also played in Opera Idaho and Boise Baroque Orchestra. She is currently the orchestra teacher at Fairmont Junior High and Valley View Elementary. Since she started working at Fairmont in 2012, she has more than doubled the size of the school’s orchestra program.
