Marcia von Huene
Viola
Marcia received degrees in music education and viola performance from the University of California Santa Barbara. She currently teaches orchestra in Grace Jordan and Jefferson Elementary as well as West Jr. High. She has been playing in the Boise Philharmonic for 20 years and never tires of working out the details in orchestral music with friends and colleagues.
Marcia also plays violin, piano and a very small bit of cello. She has many favorite composers but narrows it down to the previous century: Tchaikovsky, Brahms, Prokofiev, Mahler, Grieg, Copeland, Shostakovich, Holst, Elgar and on and on!
An avid biker, hiker, and runner, Marcia also loves quilting, cooking and gardening. She is particularly fond of her dogs, Charlie and Daisey. She's married to a wonderful supportive husband and has two sons who also play violin and love dogs.
