Lauren Blackerby is the Principal Oboe of the Boise Philharmonic, a position she has held since 2019. A native of Houston, Texas, Lauren began her musical studies with Anne Leek and went on to earn degrees from Southern Methodist University (studying with Erin Hannigan) and the Manhattan School of Music (studying with Stephen Taylor).
In addition to her work with the Boise Phil, Lauren also serves as Principal Oboe of the Colorado Ballet Orchestra.
Outside of music, Lauren enjoys life at home with her husband, Andrew, and their two cats: Aster, who loves curling up in small boxes, and Sputnik, who’s always up for a tail-chasing adventure in the bathtub.
