She moved to Boise from Montana, where she was principal oboe in the Great Falls Symphony and part of their resident chamber group, the Chinook Winds. She has performed with the Music in the Mountains Summer Festival in Durango, Colorado, and was principal oboe with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic for their 2014-2015 season.

Prior to moving west, Lauren freelanced in New York City, where she performed frequently with the Westchester Philharmonic, Long Island Philharmonic, and the off-Broadway show Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812. In the summers of 2013 and 2014, she played in a woodwind quintet in Italy for the Chamber Music Campania Festival.

Lauren grew up in Houston, where she was a student of Anne Leek. She holds degrees from Southern Methodist University, studying with Erin Hannigan, and the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Stephen Taylor.  She enjoys reading, hiking, and playing word games. She has two cats: Aster, who likes nesting in small boxes, and Sputnik, who enjoys chasing his tail in bathtubs.
