Heidi Nagel

Heidi Nagel received her M.M. in Cello Performance from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison, where she studied under Parry Karp and Uri Vardi. Other important
teachers include David Hoffman, Ilse-Mari Lee, Michael Reynolds, Robert Jesselson,
and Timothy Mientka. Ms. Nagel is a founding member of Trebelle, a regionally
acclaimed piano trio debuting in 2012, along with Robyn Wells, piano, and Jennifer
Dunn, violin (www.trebellepianotrio.org). The trio has appeared by invitation on regional
chamber music series, including Second City Chamber Series (Tacoma, WA), Caldwell
Fine Arts Series (Caldwell, ID), A Piano Celebration (College of Southern Idaho/Twin
Falls), Star Valley Arts Council series (Jackson, WY region), and Second Sunday
Sounds at Six (McCall, Idaho). The trio was a featured performer in the Idaho
Federation of Music Clubs State Convention in 2023. Trebelle performed the Beethoven
Triple Concerto with Serenata Orchestra (2019). The trio performs biannual tours
throughout Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Oregon, and Washington. Trebelle has recorded
two CD’s with recognized producer/sound engineer Jamey Lamar.

Ms. Nagel has been affiliate cello faculty with the University of Wisconsin system and
has mentored a number of young cellists, privately through her long standing studio, as
teaching faculty for the University of Wisconsin-Madison Summer Music Clinic, and as
coach for the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra and Madison Youth Symphony Orchestra. In
addition to the Boise Phil, Ms. Nagel has performed as a substitute with Boise Baroque
Orchestra, and has been a member of the Madison Symphony Orchestra, Madison
Chamber Players, Greeley Philharmonic, Fort Collins Symphony, and Bellevue
Philharmonic (greater Seattle area). Heidi spent two summers in Yellowstone National
Park performing in the resident string quartet at Lake Yellowstone Hotel. She has
recorded and toured extensively (often with her electric cello!) throughout Montana and
Minnesota with award winning Singer-Songwriter duo Storyhill. Ms. Nagel also works as
a genetic counselor for a diagnostic testing company affiliated with the University of
Utah. Heidi has been a member of the Boise Phil since 2002. She plays a 2005 cello by
Christopher Dungey, formerly owned by Samuel Smith.
