Emily Jones

Emily Jones has been involved in the arts ever since she can remember. She started tap dance at
five years old and transitioned to music after moving to Idaho at age ten. Since then, she has
discovered her passion for viola, chamber music, orchestra, and Mariachi. She currently resides
in Boise, Idaho and holds the positions of Assistant Principal in The Boise Phil, and Associate
Principal in The Boise Baroque Orchestra. She has also held a position in The Reno
Philharmonic and has performed in The Hawai’i Symphony, Miami Symphony, Miami Bach
Society, McCall Music Festival, Oregon East Symphony, and Opera Idaho. Emily studied under
Dr. Linda Kline and Pamela McConnell, receiving a Bachelor and Master of Music at Boise
State University and Master of Music at the University of Miami. In addition to her extensive
classical music background, Emily has spent more than half her life as a proud member of
Mariachi Sol de Acapulco and received the 2018 Governor’s Award for Musical Excellence as a
part of the Mariachi. Emily loves to spend her free time playing cozy video games with her two
black cats, Fafner and Freya, and her Pomeranian, Uncle Fester.
