Schubert and Modern Percussion at the Shrine
Boise Phil’s Chamber Series returns to Shrine Social Club—Boise’s beloved home for intimate, live performance—for an evening that bridges lyrical beauty and bold rhythm.
The night begins with Schubert’s String Quartet No. 14, “Rosamunde”—a work of exquisite tenderness and emotional depth. Full of graceful melodies and subtle contrasts, Schubert’s quartet captures the heart of Romantic expression, performed by Boise Phil’s own string artists in the warm glow of the Shrine.
After intermission, the spotlight shifts to the Boise Phil percussion section for a thrilling display of sound and precision. From the haunting stillness of Shaun Tilburg’s The Infantryman to the intricate patterns of Ivan Trevino’s 2+1 and Victor Caccese’s Bell Patterns, and the shimmering resonance of Devonté Hynes’s Perfectly Voiceless, this half of the program pulses with contemporary vitality.
Experience the full power and artistry of Boise Phil’s percussionists as they transform rhythm into emotion—creating an unforgettable sonic landscape that’s as visually captivating as it is musically daring.
Join us for Chamber 3 at Shrine Social Club, where Schubert’s timeless lyricism meets the edge of modern innovation.
