Master Chorale

For almost 50 years, the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale has endeavored to create moving musical experiences that inspire our community through a rich tradition of great choral music and modern musical innovations.

The Master Chorale is an auditioned chorus of more than 100 volunteer singers. You are invited to sing with the chorus, as the Master Chorale is always searching for a range of voices.

As a partner of the Boise Phil, the Boise Philharmonic Master Chorale strives to build this community by:

  • Performing concerts and musical programs of professional quality
  • Providing artistic development opportunities to its members and community
  • Bringing choral music to new audiences through outreach and education programs
  • Initiating creative programming and introducing audiences to music that is difficult to access

In addition to performing with the Phil, the Chorale has also collaborated with other area arts groups including the Boise Baroque Chamber Orchestra, Ballet Idaho, Idaho Dance Theatre, Opera Idaho Children’s Chorus, Treasure Valley Concert Band, Boise State University Symphonic Orchestra, and other local choruses. The Master Chorale has performed numerous times for Boise Music Week and has invited area high school singers to participate as part of an educational outreach effort.

Their inaugural concert was a performance of Handel’s “Messiah” with the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra, a tradition that continues to this day.
