School Concerts

School ConcertsSchool Concerts are a flagship event in the Boise Phil’s season. School Concerts are live concert performances designed for elementary students. They have touched the lives of nearly every young person who has grown up in the Treasure Valley over the last two decades and are an annual tradition for the educators who bring students to the concert halls. This year, our free school concerts will be held in person at the Morrison Center in Boise and serve elementary students from Boise, West Ada, Nampa, Caldwell, and Vallivue School Districts and beyond.

The concert features the Boise Phil orchestra led by Jennifer Drake.

This season’s school concert is a culmination of learning from the Sonic Boom! classroom curriculum. The concert program includes:

Ottorino Respighi: Pines of Rome, mvt. 1
Edvard Grieg: “In the Hall of the Mountain King” from Peer Gynt Suite
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Richard Strauss: Also Sprach Zarathustra opening
Samuel Coleridge Taylor: “La Tarantella” from Petit Suite
John Williams: Selections from E.T.

Due to the ongoing pandemic and disruptions to school districts’ school bus driver availability, the Boise Phil filmed the concert which can be watched in the safety of the classroom setting.
