Violinist Rebekah Desta holds music degrees from the University of Arizona (BM) and The Hartt School (MM), and has performed in various capacities across North America, Europe, China and Ethiopia. Her formative instructors include Karen Child, Shi-Hwa Wang, Mark Rush, Steven Moeckel, Katie Lansdale, and Mickey Reisman.
In recent years she has enjoyed extensive activity as a freelancer, such as soloing with The Chelsea Symphony and in Hartford Shakespeare Festival productions, appearing at the UN general assembly, playing on broadway show national tours, and joining Radio City Music Hall’s orchestra for the Christmas season in New York. Having been based far from her hometown of Layton, Utah for nearly a decade, Rebekah is happy to be now joining Boise Philharmonic and relocating back to the Rockies region.
