Julia Pope

Julia has been with the Boise Philharmonic since 2001 and is loving the artistic opportunity to play chamber music with her colleagues this year. She has also been a Music Educator in the West Ada school district since 2005 where she is currently the Director of Orchestras at Eagle High and Galileo STEM Academy. Any spare moments will find her reading a good book or going on outdoor adventures with her husband and two children.

Julia Pope is a native of the greater Seattle area who moved to Idaho in 2000 to study at the College of Idaho with Samuel Smith and the Langroise Trio. She graduated with honors, recieved a BA in cello performance in 2004, and completed her MA in Education in 2005.

Mrs. Pope became a member of the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra in 2001 and also regularly performs with Opera Idaho, and the Sawtooth Cello Choir. She has also performed with the Boise Baroque Orchestra, Idaho Ballet, the Boise Cello Collective, and the Bru Celtic Band.

Mrs. Pope has also been an educator in the West Ada school district since 2005 and teaches orchestra and general music classes. She is a member of several professional organizations including; Idaho Orff-Schulwerk Association (IOSA), the Idaho Music Educators Association (IMEA), and the National Associaton for Music Educators (NAfME)

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, swimming, cycling, camping, reading, and exploring the Treasure Valley with her husband and two children.
