We listen back to the Philharmonic’s May 17, 2014 performance at the Morrison Center. Selections include Beethoven’s Egmont Overture and the Symphony No. 5 by Tchaikovsky.
This very special concert took place on January 18, the Saturday before Idaho Human Rights Day. The program began with From the Diary of Anne Frank, a work for narrator and orchestra by Michael Tilson Thomas. Excerpts from the diary were read by actress Tess Gregg from Boise Contemporary Theater. Also on the program, Bohuslav Martinu’s Memorial to Lidice and the Symphony No. 4, The Inextinguishable, by Carl Nielsen.
