Children’s Concerts

Organized through the region’s school districts, the Boise Phil Children’s Concerts are an annual offering of artistic enrichment and opportunity for nearly 12,000 Treasure Valley students. For many students, this is the first opportunity to hear live symphonic music.

Each year the concerts are designed to correlate with standard Idaho curriculum through a collective effort by the school districts’ superintendents, educators, and the Boise Philharmonic Association.
Concerts are organized through the schools.

Teachers of each attending classroom get supplementary classroom materials in advance to help prepare for the concert experience. Students learn about instrument families and sounds, concert etiquette, composers, orchestral repertoire, and how music and sound ties into their daily lives and studies.
