The Verde Percussion Group is comprised of members of the Boise Philharmonic Percussion Section. It was organized in the fall of 1991 in recognition of David Green, whose generous contribution from his estate allowed the Boise Philharmonic to acquire many of the percussion instruments still in use today. Verde Percussion is now using these wonderful instruments to bring the sounds and joys of percussion into an educational concert experience for students.
Verde Percussion Education Concerts
The Verde Percussion Group is comprised of the percussion section of the Boise Philharmonic Orchestra. Members have extensive backgrounds in education and playing experience. The mission of the group is to provide an outstanding educational experience where children and adults learn about music in general and percussion instruments in particular, and also to enhance the enjoyment of percussion performance opportunities through education and critical listening. Students will be exposed to all of the different major percussion instruments, their sounds, and how those sounds are produced. Mixed-in with fun repertoire and interesting timbres, Verde Percussion offers a fun and enlightening environment to learn about the most diverse orchestral section.
