Verde Percussion Group

The Verde Percussion Group brings a heart-pounding array of instruments to the stage. The group is comprised of members of the Boise Phil Percussion Section, and was organized in the fall of 1991 in recognition of David Green, whose generous contribution from his estate allowed the Boise Phil to acquire many of the percussion instruments still in use today. Verde Percussion is now using these wonderful instruments to bring the sounds and joys of percussion to Boise students.

Verde Percussion Education Concerts

The Verde Percussion Group members have extensive backgrounds in education and performance, which they use to teach young students about percussion in a fun and engaging way. The mission of the group is to provide an educational experience where children learn about music in general and percussion instruments in particular, and to enhance the enjoyment of percussion through education and critical listening.

Boise students will be exposed to many different percussion instruments, their sounds, and how those sounds are produced. The fun repertoire and interesting timbres make Verde Percussion a fun and enlightening environment to learn about the most diverse section of the orchestra.
