Idaho State Museum Silent Film Event

February 13, 2020, 6:00 pm

Join the Idaho State Museum for an evening of Idaho Film and Cinematic History February 13th from 6-8:30pm. Guests will watch an Idaho-based silent film screening accompanied by silent film specialist Ben Model. Model will play the 1878 Cartee Weber Grand Piano and speak about the silent film industry, and answer questions from the audience. Ryan Cannon, Boise State Film Professor, will also speak about the film in Idaho. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion featuring Model, Cannon, and Layce Johnson, Collections Archivist from the Idaho State Archives.

This evening is a partnership with Boise Philharmonic and is a kick-off event for their annual event on February 15th, a special concert of silent films accompanied by live music at the Egyptian later that week.
