ANTONÍN DVOŘÁK
Symphony No. 8 in G Major

From the morning sun’s rays peeking over the horizon to a whirling dance In the Hall of the Mountain King, Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite has transported audiences to mythical landscapes for more than a century. Talented young musicians from the Youth Orchestra sit side-by-side with Boise Phil musicians on stage for this popular orchestral showpiece.

Principal Clarinet Carmen Izzo steps into the spotlight for a virtuosic performance of a notoriously difficult Clarinet Concerto by Nielsen. You’ll be dazzled as the clarinet and orchestra tussle with each other.

Sunshine returns full-force with Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8. With joyful fanfares, soaring melodies, delicate birdcalls and lively dances, Dvořák pulls from the Bohemian folk music that he loved – gifting us with an overwhelming sense of optimism.
