“A symphony must be like the world,” said Mahler. “It must embrace everything.” Mahler’s Fifth symphony does just that, embracing a sea of sound and a world of emotion. In just over an hour, Mahler gives us laughter, grief, life, death and love so tender it defies words. From the famous opening trumpet fanfare to the jubilant finale, Mahler takes us on a journey from tragedy to triumph, with detours through storms, dances, and the exquisite experience of falling in love. This is capital-R Romantic music, chock full of feelings and ready to sweep you off your feet.

Do not come to the Boise Phil Box office (on S. 9th St.) on concert day, it will be closed as we will be setting up our Box Office at the Morrison Center in preparation for the concert. Please come to the Morrison Center before the concert to resolve any ticketing issues.

We care deeply about the West Treasure Valley and want to ensure that our programming is accessible to all – our classroom education programs, community engagement and other special performances will continue in Nampa and across the entire West Valley.
