Catching Hope is a concert of meaningful works, new and old, which conjure hope across the ages.
Featuring tenor Terrence Chin-Loy, the Boise Phil Master Chorale and Orchestra will bring to bear the powerful words of the cantata I Will Lift Up Mine Eyes set by 20th-century composer Adolphus Hailstork, in memory of the late composer Undine Smith Moore. With a brand new composition by Elaine Hagenberg, a multitude of texts are compiled in the setting entitled Illuminare, which takes us through a season of beauty and goodness that has been disrupted by darkness and confusion. Finally the ensemble will shower the audience with deep and colorful harmony in Johannes Brahms’ Shicksalslied, meaning spark of hope.
