With more than 160 members, two orchestras and a full performance schedule, the Boise Phil Youth Orchestra is a joy to hear and to be a part of. Under the direction of music director Jennifer Drake, these young musicians receive professional ensemble training and coaching by the Boise Phil orchestra musicians. The youth orchestras are open to woodwind, brass, percussion, and string students in 9th-12th grade by audition only.

The Boise All-City Honor Band is our special guest and will be performing at this concert! It is an auditioned group of musicians in 6th-8th grade. The Boise Honor Band is under the Direction of Mark Young, who has led the group since 2018. The ensemble includes twenty-one 8th graders, fourteen 7th graders, and seven 6th graders from 15 different schools across the Boise School District. The group meets once a week after school. All of the musicians in the program are also a part of their school’s band program.
